Can you believe it?!
Last year the Travel.gc.ca team at the Department of Foreign Affairs took a chance and spun the idea of Government of Canada websites on their head.
Enforcing quick identification of core tasks on the homepage with fun illustrations, promoted a sense of fun that should be consistent with travel and helped people get to the content they needed faster.
And Jumping Elephants were there to help!
Before the cute pictures of colourful travel graphics, Alasdair Stuart-Bell was on the frontlines working with the Travel.gc.ca team and their 20 or so core stakeholders to ensure that the most relevant information was not only located on the homepage, but that it could also easily be accessed as quickly as possible through the main menu, in page navigation and discoverable links.
And it didn’t stop on the desktop, Alasdair worked closely with our partner agency Marsworks to develop a mobile app that would cater to the busy traveler and provide them with access to the information they needed, when they needed it, with an easy to use interface that let them focus more on the task at hand: enjoying their adventure.
We are proud to have been part of the project and even prouder of the wonderful work the travel.gc.ca team accomplished.
